Neill Blomkamp’s ‘Alien’ Movie

Neill Blomkamp is no stranger to jumping into well developed franchises. Before he directed District 9, he was developing a motion picture adaptation of the Halo video games series. Now, the creator of the science fiction films, Elysium & District 9 has been toying around with an Alien sequel. He shared a series of pictures on his Instagram account, showcasing concept art from an Alien film he was working on. Apparently this was an independent development, based on some of his tweets.

From the pictures Neill shared, it looks like Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) teaming up with her James Cameron’s Aliens co-star Cpl. Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn). While Michael Biehn did not reprise his role in other Alien sequels, his voice did pop up in the Aliens: Colonial Marines video games by Gearbox Software. The photos also showcase Weyland headquarters and the Derelict Ship.

This sounds great to me, but while they’re at it they should bring back Newt from Aliens and Call, Winona Ryder’s character from the Joss Whedon penned Alien: Resurrection. Would you be into this sequel? Or are you waiting for a Prometheus sequel?

And finally, my home desk #xenomorph
